Two trainees of the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) hockey coaching centre were part of the Ludhiana boys U-11 hockey team that emerged the champions in the recently held Punjab State Primary Schools Hockey Championship, held at Mohali.

Jotsaroop Singh and Shivraj Singh, both students of Sacred Heart Senior Secondary School; Bhai Randhir Singh Nagar, Ludhiana; trainees of the PAU centre, run under the supervision of coaches Guteg Singh and Arunjit Kaur, played a pivotal role in the team’s title win.

Ludhiana boys remained unbeaten in this championship to clinch the title. They trounced Hoshiarpur 11-0, outwitted Bathinda 10-5 and in the final, edged out Gurdaspur 7-5 to lay their hands on the winners’ trophy.
