Advocating fiscal and family stability through self-employment, the Skill Development Centre of Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) designed a five-day training course on ‘Setting up of Agribusinesses’ for farmers. A total of 24 farmers participated in the course, held under the guidance of Dr MS Bhullar, Director of Extension Education, PAU.

In her welcome remarks, Dr Rupinder Kaur Toor, Associate Director (Skill Development), said that the training course aimed at motivating the farming community not to remain limited to agriculture only, but to start their own farm-related enterprises such as value addition and food processing for the socio-economic upliftment. Extension Scientist Lavleesh Garg promoted setting up of small-scale units for agro-processing, which could help get rid of wheat-paddy monoculture.
