Students of Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) today sat on indefinite protest at PAU Gate number 1.

Students are protesting for their long-pending demands. They said for the past two years, they had been repeatedly forced to endure hardships. Due to this, a continuous sit-in protest will carry on day and night until the demands are met.

Before starting the protest, student leaders held a meeting with the PAU authorities, during which the authorities assured them that the demands would be presented to the government.

Student leader Angrej Singh said that Education Minister Harjot Bains personally came to meet them at PAU, and in 2014, when Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann was an MP, he used to join students in protests, but today, they are being compelled to face hardships.

Various speakers said that there would be an hour-long stage programme every day, and they appealed to more students, farmer organisations and social workers to join them.
