Priyanka, a PhD student at the Department of Microbiology in the College of Basic Sciences and Humanities, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), Ludhiana, has received the “Best Student of the Department” award for the 2023-24 academic session from the Microbiologists Society, India, under the presidentship of Dr Arvind Deshmukh.

During her PhD programme, she was conducting research on green technologies for waste valorisation under the guidance of her major advisor, Dr Pooja.

Dr Satbir Singh Gosal, Vice-Chancellor, PAU; Dr Kiran Bains, Dean, College of Basic Sciences and Humanities; and Dr Urmila Gupta Phutela, principal scientist (REE)-cum-head, lauded the student for her achievement.
