A man lodged a complaint with the police against the Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI), stating that he allegedly thrashed him and his family members.

ASI Harbhol Singh, against whom a complaint was lodged, while denying the allegations said he had not beaten up anyone, rather he was trying to calm down disputing parties who were scuffling with each other.

The complainant, Mohit Sikka, of Basant Nagar, Shimlapuri, in a complaint to the Commissioner of Police alleged that on October 20, the ASI came to their house to hand over summons. When they opened the door, the policeman, along with others, with whom they had some dispute in the past, barged into the house.

“The policeman, along with others, started beating me, my mother and brother. The ASI badly beaten up my brother, who suffered injuries. Those who were accompanying the police officials had also stolen gold ornaments of my mother and Rs 40,000 from the house,” he alleged.

The complainant said on November 12, the police had registered an FIR on our complaint but names of some assailants and even the ASI were not added to the FIR. Even a video of the incident was also given to the policebut no action was taken so far.
