Van Mahotsav was celebrated near Dr Manmohan Singh Auditorium, near Gate no 1 at Punjab Agricultural University (PAU).

The plantation drive, undertaken with the help of landscape officer of the university and his team, was kick-started by PAU Vice-Chancellor Dr Satbir Singh Gosal. He planted saplings and expressed respect and admiration towards the ‘Mother Nature’.

He was accompanied by Registrar Dr Rishi Pal Singh, Dean Postgraduate Studies Dr MIS Gill, Director of Research Dr AS Dhatt, Director of Extension Education Dr MS Bhullar, Dean of College of Community Science Dr Kiran Bains, Director Students’ Welfare Dr Nirmal Jaura, Additional Directors of Research Dr GS Mangat and Dr Mahesh Kumar, Additional Director Communication Dr TS Riar and heads of the departments.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Gosal said: “Clean spaces remain clean as people respect them. Dirty spaces attract more neglect. That’s the thought we’re trying to convey through the green campaign.”
