The drive was conducted between 6:30 pm and 07:30 pm, targeting major public parking locations, including the bus stand, railway station, Samrala Chowk and the Court Complex. Under the leadership of the Commissioner of Police, Ludhiana, the operation was carried out in collaboration with local senior police officers, SHOs and the field media team (FMT).

Police officials said the objective of the drive was to deter illegal or suspicious parking activities, enhance the safety of public spaces for commuters and residents, increase police visibility and strengthen community trust and collect data on parking usage patterns for future improvements.

They said multiple open parking areas were inspected through the Vahan app. During the drive, a total of 246 vehicles were inspected and 34 suspicious vehicles were identified and detained. The initiative has reaffirmed the Commissionerate Police’s dedication to proactive policing. By regularly monitoring high-traffic zones, the police aim to minimise threats, improve traffic management and ensure the security of citizens’ vehicles.

Meanwhile, ADCP-1 Sameer Verma said the Ludhiana police remain committed to ongoing public safety initiatives. “SecurePark Ops” would continue as a recurring operation to maintain secure, orderly and efficient public parking zones across the city.
