A portion of Lakkar Bridge flyover has caved in. The caved in portion has been covered with sand raising serious concerns about safety of the people passing through the flyover. Besides, the flyover road is broken at several places.

Filing the hole with sand would not solve the problem during the ongoing monsoon season. If it rains, the sand will wash away.

“Commuting on the Lakkar Bridge flyover seems to be risky. Earlier too, a portion of the bridge had caved in. The authorities concerned should undertake proper repair of the flyover,” said Sumesh, a daily commuter.

Another commuter said the broken flyover road gives a bumpy ride. “The municipal corporation should repair the whole road to prevent inconvenience to the public,” he said.
