Priest found dead

The body of a priest was found under mysterious circumstances in the office of a cable operator in Gurnam Nagar on the Jassian road on Monday. After finding the body, the cable operator raised the alarm.

The police took the body in their custody and sent it to the Civil Hospital for autopsy.

They found Aadhar card and other documents from the priest’s pocket. The deceased has been identified as Praveen Kumar (27), a resident of Karnal, Haryana.

The police officer, who reached the scene, said the body of the man was lying in the office of the cable operator of the area.

The cable operator, Raju, said Praveen had come to his office on Sunday evening and he had stayed there. When he came to the office in the morning, it was locked from inside. When he climbed the stairs, the body of the priest was lying near the office table.

The cause of his death would be known only after the arrival of the post-mortem examination report.
