Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Thursday dedicated 14 ultra-modern rural public libraries to the people with an aim to further inculcating reading habit among the youth and make them a partner in progress of the state.
He envisioned that these rural libraries would act as a harbinger of growth and prosperity in the state, adding that the path-breaking initiative was aimed at developing reading habit among the youth of the state.
He said the step would go a long way in empowering youngsters and making them an equal partner in the social-economic development of the state.
Mann hoped that the libraries would help in transforming the destiny of the youth and produce bureaucrats, scientists, doctors, technocrats and others.
The CM said the libraries had been equipped with high-end facilities such as internet and solar power digital analogs. These have world-class books on contemporary literature and curriculum books, providing a rich learning experience.
“The motive is to make sure that the youth excel in every field and gems are produced from the state for proving the mettle of state in varied fields,” he added.
During the inauguration, a girl student tied rakhi on the wrist of the Chief Minister, symbolising the bond between the government and its people. Mann said it would always remind him to work zealously for the state and its people. He claimed that the state government was leaving no stone unturned for the noble cause of progress of the state. — TNS
