Baljeet Singh of Ludhiana and Mehakdeep Kaur of Mansa emerged winners among boys and girls, respectively, in the track and field events of the 68th Punjab State School Games, being organised by the Punjab Education Department at Guru Nanak Stadium here on Wednesday.

Baljeet came out triumphant in pole vault discipline in the boys U-19 category while Mehakdeep finished ahead of others in 3,000m race in the girls U-17 section.

Boys (U-17): Triple jump - Harmanpreet Singh (Gurdaspur) first and Gurshan Singh (Tarn Taran) second; 3,000m race - Ramandeep Singh (Ferozepur) first and Maninder Singh (Sangrur) second.

Boys (U-19): 5000m walk - Robin Singh (Patiala) first and Aditya (Jalandhar) second; Pole vault- Baljeet Singh (Ludhiana) first and Gurpreet Singh (Fazilka) second; Javelin throw - Sidharth (Jalandhar) first and Harshit Biblani (Jalandhar) second.

Girls (U-19): 3,000m walk - Gurpreet Kaur (Amritsar) first and Mahik (Muktsar) second.

Girls (U-17): 3,000m race - Mehakdeep Kaur (Mansa) first and Jiya (PIS, Hoshiarpur) second; Javelin throw - Vinpali (PIS, Mohali) first and Harpreet Kaur (Barnala) second.
