Athletes from 23 districts are taking part in track and field events.
Dimple Madaan, District Education Officer (Secondary Education), and Amandeep Singh, Deputy District Education Officer, gave away prizes to the position holders.
In the girls section, Rajwinder Kaur was followed by Tanveer Kaur (Hoshiarpur) at second place, while Tamanna (Gurdaspur) and Gagandeep Kaur (Bathinda) shared the third position. In the boys group, the second and third positions were bagged by Karanvir Singh
(Amritsar) and Gurmit Singh (Fazilka), respectively.
In long jump event (boys U-17), Harmanpreet Singh of Gurdaspur secured the top position and Ludhiana’s Gagandeep Singh finished runners-up, while the third position was shared by Gurnoor Singh of Moga and Avijot Singh of Sangrur.
In the girls U-19 group, in the shot put event, Navneet Kaur (Patiala) came out triumphant. Gurkanwal Kaur, also of Patiala secured the second position, while Jannat of Fazilka and Dikshita of Hoshiarpur were declared the second runners-up, jointly.
In high jump (girls U-17), Rattan Bala of Muktsar secured the first position, while Japjot Kaur of Nawanshahr finished at the second place. Tamanna Devi of Muktsar and Prabhjot Kaur of Faridkot secured the third position, jointly.
In discus throw (boys U-17), Shahwaz Jagga of Fazilka and Sehajpreet Singh of Sangrur secured the top two positions, while Gurshaan Singh of Moga and Ravraj Pal Singh of Muktsar, shared the third position.
In lawn tennis (team event), Moga beat Sangrur, Bathinda beat Pathankot, Fatehgarh Sahib beat Hoshiarpur, Kapurthala beat Muktsar, Jalandhar beat Patiala and Ludhiana beat Amritsar in the girls U-14 category.
