After Senior Deputy Mayor Rakesh Prashar expressed concern over the quality of material used for the construction of a road outside Gurdwara Dukhniwaran Sahib, the Municipal Corporation (MC) has directed the contractor to reconstruct the road.

Prashar conducted an inspection to take stock of ongoing works, following which the concern was raised over the quality of the road.

He said the Nagar Kirtan being organised by the state government to commemorate the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur would be reaching the city on November 20. Different road construction projects are being taken up in old city areas, which will also facilitate the ‘’sangat’’.

The Senior Deputy Mayor said the work to reconstruct the road leading to the gurdwara was commenced a few days ago. He added that the contractor had been directed to reconstruct the road and he would again conduct an inspection in coming days to ensure good quality work.
