The Sadar Raikot police registered a case against five persons on the charge of attacking the husband of the sarpanch of Littran village in Raikot.

Two of the suspects were identified as Davinder Singh and Pardeep, residents of the village.

The complainant, Surjit Singh, said he works as a daily wager. On December 13, he had gone to the cooperative society for some work. The suspects entered the society and attacked him with a sharp weapon and an iron rod.

He said he was saved by Harjinder Singh, a resident of the village. Later, he lodged a police complaint, following which a case was registered.
