SDMs inspect process of procurement at grain markets across district

To ensure seamless wheat procurement, on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain, the sub-divisional magistrates (SDM) of Ludhiana conducted surprise inspections at several grain markets across the districts.

Their visits aimed to review the ongoing operations and address any challenges faced by farmers during the wheat procurement season.

SDMs Dr Jasleen Kaur Bhullar, Poonampreet Kaur, Dr Baljinder Singh Dhillon, Pardeep Singh Bains, Karandeep Singh and Gurbir Singh Kohli interacted with farmers, commission agents and others regarding the operations. Besides, they also checked availability of civic necessities such as drinking water, electricity, etc in the mandis so that farmers did not face any difficulties.

DC Himanshu Jain reaffirmed the Punjab Government’s commitment to purchasing every grain brought to the mandis by the farmers. He noted that the administration had implemented thorough arrangements to ensure efficient procurement.
