Dr Karan Soni brought glory to the state as he was conferred an honorary doctorate by Hawkins Global University in recognition of his outstanding service, dedication and inspirational work for society.

Dr Soni, who is also the spokesperson of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee and an awardee of the Indian Army, has always stood for youth empowerment, leadership and social welfare.

His relentless efforts in the fields of healthcare, education and personal development have been widely appreciated at

both national and international levels.

This honorary doctorate adds another milestone to his journey of service and transformation, making every Punjabi proud.

“Learn, serve and inspire – this is my life’s motto, and I dedicate this honour to the people of Punjab and my mentors who guided me,” said Dr Karan Soni.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

The Tribune, the largest selling English daily in North India, publishes news and views without any bias or prejudice of any kind. Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense of the term.

The Tribune has two sister publications, Punjabi Tribune (in Punjabi) and Dainik Tribune (in Hindi).
