Rural Development and Panchayats Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond on Saturday held a public meeting and listened to the problems of the people. Sond directed the officials of the Water Supply and Sewage Board to get the sewage removed by using machines from ward 13 and 14.

Residents had complained that the sewage system had been lying non-functional and the MC had not carried out any cleaning. Residents of New Friends Colony also informed the minister that there was no sewerage in their colony, nor any street had been constructed. He assured them that he would check whether the colony was legal or illegal, and action would be taken accordingly as soon as possible.
