An ‘Embroidery Competition’ was organised by the Department of Apparel and Textile Science, College of Community Science (COCS), Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), at the Experiential Learning Unit of the department to celebrate February as National Embroidery Month.

More than 20 participants from constituent departments of the college exhibited their fabric enhancement skills by using various embroidery techniques.

The participants used different types of embroidery stitches to make a beautiful floral design pattern on fabric. Sukhmanjot Kaur from BSc (Hons) Fashion Designing, Sakshi Raj from PhD Apparel and Textile Science and Inderjot Kaur from MSc Apparel and Textile Science, bagged the first, second and the third position, respectively.

Kiran Bains, Dean, COCS, and Harminder Kaur Saini, Professor and Head, Department of Apparel and Textile Science, gave away certificates and prizes to the winners and congratulated all students for their participation.
