A young entrepreneur from Gurusar Sudhar village of Ludhiana district was named the ‘2024 AMBA Men’s Beard Product of the Year Winner’ during a contest held recently at Brisbane of Queensland in Australia.

Gorky Gill, a 37 year old youth from an agrarian family, had shifted to Melbourne in Australia in search of greener pastures after realising that agriculture had no longer remained a remunerative profession. Though Gill has been achieving various accolades in the fashion industry by preparing beard serum, oil and aftershaves, he participated in the Australian Modern Barber Awards, sponsored by Barbershop magazine only this year.

Gill was declared the winner as the product of his Dr Sleek Lab — beard serum along with beard oil and vitamins shave emerged as the top 3 products.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

The Tribune, the largest selling English daily in North India, publishes news and views without any bias or prejudice of any kind. Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense of the term.

The Tribune has two sister publications, Punjabi Tribune (in Punjabi) and Dainik Tribune (in Hindi).
