Suvidha Kendra employees here went on a strike on Friday to protest the delay in the release of their salaries.

The employees sat on a dharna and raised slogans against the government for not having released their salaries on time. Residents who visited to centre get their work done were a disappointed lot as it could not be completed amid the ongoing strike.

The employees complained that the government did not release their salaries on time, and even when the salaries were released there were unjustified deductions. An employee said he was paid Rs 10,500 a month. He said an amount ranging between Rs 2,000 and 2,500 was deducted from his salary and it had become very difficult for him to run his house.

The employees have demanded that their salaries be increased and disbursed on time by the government.
