For the second day today, teachers of colleges affiliated with the PCCTU in the district staged a protest against the alleged indifferent attitude of the Punjab Government and Higher Education Department.

Executive member of Punjab and Chandigarh Teachers Union Varun Goyal said that this protest was staged against the lack of concern by the authorities concerned towards teachers and higher education. Teachers from various colleges of Ludhiana district took part in the protest against the bureaucracy of the Punjab Government and Higher Education Department.

“The ‘non-sensitive’ attitude of the bureaucracy of the department has brought the higher education in the entire state at the crossroads,” said those sitting on protest.
