As per information, Gurpyar Singh, a Punjab Home Guard, was on duty at the Kot police post on the night of August 8. Three persons came there and started removing tyres of a truck kept as case property by the police. When Gurpyar Singh tried to stop them, the accused attacked him. The accused not only thrashed him, but also pushed him to the ground. When the Home Guard raised an alarm, the thieves fled from the spot.
On receiving information, the police reached the spot. After investigation, the police registered a case against Parminder Singh, Kuldeep Singh, a resident of Shergarh, Fatehgarh Sahib district, and two unknown persons, in this connection. The accused were charged with an attempt to murder, obstruction in discharge of official duty, assault and other sections of the BNS. — TNS
