ATP Jagdeep Singh said they came to know about the illegal constructions during routine inspections and action was taken against them on Wednesday as owners failed to stop illegal constructions despite notices/warnings issued in the past.

Meanwhile, Sawhney said strict directions had been issued to staff of the building branch to keep a regular check and take stern action against illegal constructions.

Earlier on Tuesday, the civic body had also taken action against eight illegal buildings in areas falling under the Zone B of the MC.
