The Sadar Jagraon police booked three persons for looting Rs.1.02 lakh from two employees of a finance company at Galib Kalan village in Jagraon. The victims, Laxman Murgan and his associate, had gone to recover loans from villagers and when they were returning, they were attacked by three masked robbers.

Laxman said he works for Kisan Microfinance company and it has been giving loans up to Rs 5,000 to villagers for two years. On the day of the incident, he and his associate had Rs 1 lakh and later, recovered more money from a customer, totalling the amount to Rs 1.02 lakh.

As they were leaving the village on a motorcycle, three robbers surrounded them, threatening them with iron rods.

They snatched the cash and a mobile phone from them. The complainant lodged a police complaint and a case was registered at the Sadar Jagraon police station on Sunday. The police are currently working to identify the suspects.
