In a tragic incident on Tajpur Road on Friday, three 18-year-old students, who were going to celebrate Holi, died in a road accident. Two of the boys were studying in Class XII at a Ludhiana school while the third victim was a Class XII student of an Amritsar school.

The police took the bodies into their custody for post-mortem examination.

On a complaint by Sabodh Lal of Guru Nanak Estate, Sahibana Road, an FIR was filed against an unidentified tipper driver. As per information, Lal’s son Ankush, along with friends Akashdeep Singh and Sudram, was going to celebrate Holi on a motorcycle. When the youths reached near Dashmesh Dairy on Tajpur Road, a speeding tipper hit their vehicle. According to witnesses, the tipper was coming from the Central Jail side at a high speed. The accident was so severe that all three students died on the spot. Investigating officer Prem Chand said Ankush and Akashdeep were studying in a Ludhiana school while Sudram was studying in Amritsar. Sudram came from Amritsar to Ludhiana to celebrate Holi with his friends and all three became victims of the tragic accident.

The Police Division 7 have registered a case against the unidentified tipper driver and launched a probe to identify the suspect.
