A truck loaded with urea lost balance, overturned and caught fire on the Delhi national highway in Ludhiana today. Eyewitnesses maintained that heavy smoke was seen coming out from the truck when it caught fire, but no casualty was reported. The driver and another person reportedly fled from the scene.

The truck was coming from Delhi and was going towards Jalandhar when the incident took place. When the truck reached near Transport Nagar, it lost balance and overturned. The truck was crossing the overbridge when it caught fire and luckily did not fall from the bridge, otherwise it would have been fatal, maintained the eyewitnesses. The fire was doused by the fire fighting vehicles. The police are investigating the matter.
