Acting on unauthorised colonies across the district, the Greater Ludhiana Area Development Authority (GLADA) has flagged two cases of illegal colonies for action by the Sahnewal police which have, in turn, registered the cases under various sections of the PAPR Act.

Tarlochan Singh of Sahnewal and Vikram of Jind in Haryana have been booked by the police for cutting illegal colonies by the names Tarlochan Colony in Sahnewal and Good Homes on the Ramgarh road, respectively.

Sahnewal SHO Jagdev Singh said the colonisers had fled but would be in police custody soon as they have no right to dupe the public.
