Two held with heroin, country-made pistol

A team of the Crime Branch arrested two persons with 100 grams of heroin and an illegal pistol.

Giving details, Crime Branch In-charge Inspector Beant Juneja said the accused were identified as Vishal and Harminder Singh.

The cop added that ASI Joginder Singh deployed at Uchi Mangli stopped two young men on suspicion. Their checking led to the recovery of 100 grams of heroin, a country-made pistol and a cartridge.

The accused were apprehended and a case was registered against them.

During preliminary investigation, it came to light that Vishal was already facing a murder case. Similarly, a case of molestation and another under the NDPS Act were already registered against Harminder, said Inspector Juneja.

The cop said the accused would be presented in a court and their remand would be sought to identify the source of the contraband and the weapon. More arrests were expected in the case, he added.
