In the Moti Nagar area here, two bike-borne miscreants stopped a man riding a motorcycle and hit him on the head with sticks. Despite wearing a helmet, the motorcyclist was injured in the attack as the helmet was broken. The suspects fled the scene with his vehicle.

The victim, Jamshed, said he was going on his motorcycle and when he reached near the Vishwakarma Colony market, two men stopped him and came in front of his bike. Following this, they began beating him with sticks. He said the miscreants hit him hard on the head due to which, despite wearing a helmet, he was injured and fell down.

He said he was going to work around 9 am on Tuesday as he works as a construction contractor. He was on the way to 33 Feet Colony on Chandigarh Road when he was robbed by the suspects near Vishwa Karma Colony.

He said he filed a complaint at the Moti Nagar police station and underwent treatment at the Civil Hospital.

Meanwhile, the police said they received a complaint in this regard and had started a probe in the matter. There were no CCTV cameras installed at the site of the incident. The police would scan CCTV cameras installed near the crime scene to identify the robbers. They would not be spared and the looted bike would also be recovered.
