Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Varinder Singh Khosa in a statement issued stated that the suspects were identified as Jagdeep Singh, alias Gani, and Davinder Singh, alias Sukha, both residents of Sudhar.
The police recovered one motorcycle from the suspects and a probe was launched to check whether the motorcycle was stolen or owned by them, he said.
He said the suspects had committed a snatching on September 16, targeting a woman, and after registering a case against them, the police had launched a probe during which they were arrested by the police. Now, further questioning of the suspects was on to recover the snatched money and other valuables. Their past criminal record was also being checked. If the role of the suspects comes to the fore in any past snatching incident, the police would initiate legal action against them accordingly.
