In her complaint to the police, the girl stated that she knew the accused for the past one year and their relationship quickly turned into a serious love affair. For approximately one year, the suspect had been taking her to Hotel Kailash near the Ludhiana bus stand and establishing physical relationship with her. Now, she is six-month pregnant.

The complainant said when she asked the suspect to marry her, he initially made excuses. Later, he said he would take her to his village and marry her there. Under the pretext of marriage, he took the girl to the Ludhiana railway station to travel to Uttar Pradesh. Both boarded the train. As the train stopped near Rampur station, the suspect stepped out on the pretext of going to the toilet. The girl waited at the station for a long time but the suspect did not return. Upon returning to Ludhiana, the girl filed a complaint.

ASI Jaswant Singh said the police had registered a case against Nirmal, based on the girl’s complaint. The police said the suspect would be arrested soon.
