Dr Ravinder Singh Grewal, Director of Extension Education and Nodal Officer of the project, and Dr Parminder Singh, principal investigator, are leading the entire team to provide inputs and knowledge to farmers.

Dr Rajesh Kasrija and Dr Parteek Singh Dhaliwal, organised the event and administered oral magnets to 15 dairy animals of beneficiary farmers.

Dr Rajesh created awareness among the farmers about the oral magnets. He said an oral magnet was a cylindrical bar magnet of 70 mm length, which when administered orally to large dairy animals prevents diseases such as traumatic reticuloperitonitis (TRP)

or hardware disease and diaphragmatic hernia (DH).

He made livestock owners aware about the risk of incorporation of metal objects such as nails, pins, needles, screws and pieces of wire in the feed of the dairy animals, causing severe diseases, which if not taken into consideration may lead to severe consequences.

Dr Parteek Singh discussed TRP or DH being a major concern in production animals, which leads to death of animals with huge economic losses.
