Sonia Bhandal, a PhD student of the Department of Extension Education and Communication Management, College of Community Science, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), secured the ‘Best Oral Presentation Award’ during the ICAR-sponsored International Conference on ‘Current Innovations and Technological Advances in Agriculture and Allied Sciences (CITAAS-2024)’, held at Guru Kashi University, Talwandi Sabo, Bathinda, from August 29-31. Sonia presented a paper on the topic, ‘Bridging the gender gap: Strategies for empowering women in the 21st century’.

Chahak Jain, a PhD student of the Department of Biochemistry, College of Basic Sciences and Humanities, PAU, also secured the award. During the conference, Jain presented her PhD research work on ‘Dark fermentation of sugarcane biomass hydrolysate by Enterobacter aerogenes for hydrogen production’.
