Complainant Maninder Kaur, a resident of Joshian Mohalla, Nurmahal, told the police that his brother Manmohan Singh was married to Jyoti on October 30, 2020, and was living with his family at Ladian Kalan, Ludhiana. They used to fight over various issues quite often. On May 5, she was shocked to know that her brother had ‘died by suicide’.

“From the very start I had been sure that my brother cannot take the extreme step. We conducted some investigation and talked to the number of residents and found that he was quite happy before his death. I suspect that my sister-in-law in collusion with her relatives and acquaintances, has killed my brother by giving him something poisonous. Now, the police have registered a case against unknown accused and the investigation would unearth the entire truth.”

Investigating officer ASI Jasvir Singh said that further investigation had been launched and they would soon identify and arrest the accused.
