White coat ceremony held for ESIC Hospital’s inaugural batch

The ceremony was graced by Dr Deepak Bhatti, Dean (Colleges), Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, as the chief guest, and Dr Poonampreet, SDM Ludhiana West, as the guest of honour.
The other dignitaries present were Regional Director ESIC, Joint Director SRO LDH, SMO RO and IMA president, Dr Manoj Sobti.
Delivering his address, Dr Deepak Bhatti said that the white coat ceremony was not just a ritual but a pledge to serve humanity. He added the students were entering a profession where knowledge met compassion, and responsibility coverged with service.
Dr Poonampreet said the white coat represented purity of intention, dedication, and discipline. Speaking at the ceremony, Medical Superintendent Dr Aparajita D’souza emphasised the deeper meaning of the day stating that the ceremony was sacred.
A book on practical skills written by the head of the department of physiology was also launched on this occasion.During the ceremony, each student was presented with their first white coat, marking a defining moment in their medical journey. As they donned the coat for the very first time, they pledged to uphold ethical practice, patient-centered care and professional excellence.
