The Jodhan police have initiated a probe into the mysterious death of a youth of Gujjarwal village, Taranpreet Singh (18), whose body was recovered from a indoor stadium on Tuesday, a day after he went missing from home.

Suspecting foul play behind the death of the youth, his family, led by Gurdeep Singh, has demanded action against some drug peddlers of the village who had allegedly lured the victim into drug abuse.

Some villagers, led by sarpanch Hardeep Singh, Zamhoori Kisan Sabha leader Harnek Singh Gujjarwal and BKU (Ekta Ugrahan) leader Kuldeep Singh, organised a dharna to expedite action in the matter.

Dakha DSP Varinder Singh Khosla said the police had nabbed two of the four suspects who are suspected of causing his death. The nabbed suspects have been identified as Manpreet Singh Mani of Ransinh Kalan village and Jagtar Singh Taari of Gujjarwal village.

Ranjeet Singh Sonu and Jagjiwan Singh of Gujjarwal village are yet to be arrested.
