While the deceased’s family has accused two of the victim’s friends of allegedly causing his death by drug overdose, Sudhar SHO Gurdeep Singh said the exact cause of death would be ascertained after conducting the post-mortem examination.

Jasdeep Jassa of Boparai Kalan informed Sudhar SHO that two friends of his brother had allegedly gave drug to his brother Gagan Deep Singh on Tuesday and deserted him unattended at the village when his condition worsened.

He threatened that the family would not allow his post-mortem examination and cremation till both suspects are arrested by the police.

As parents of the deceased are staying abroad, his body had been kept at the mortuary of a Boparai Kalan hospital.
