Four killed as Maha Kumbh-bound SUV overturns in MP’s Sidhi district
Four persons were killed, and as many others sustained injuries after an SUV heading for the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj overturned in Madhya Pradesh’s Sidhi district in the wee hours of Monday, police said.
The accident occurred under the Amahia police station limits around 2 am when the SUV was going towards Prayagraj from Waidhan in Singrauli district, Superintendent of Police (SP) Ravindra Verma told PTI.
He said the vehicle carrying pilgrims was crossing Mudha Pahad when it overturned, killing four persons.
Four other passengers were seriously injured and are undergoing treatment at a hospital, the official said.
Prima facie, it appears that the driver lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a turn, he said.
