11 killed as bus hits truck near Bikaner

Jaipur: Eleven persons, most of them passengers, were killed on the spot and 16 were injured on Monday when a Lok Parivahan Roadways bus carrying them collided head on with a truck at Seruna, 35 km from Bikaner, due to fog on the national highway connecting Jaipur. After the mishap, the truck’s cabin got engulfed in fire in which its driver was charred to death. OC

2 ‘Indians’ held in Pak

Bahawalpur (Pakistan): Two men, said to be Indian nationals, have been arrested in Pakistan’s Cholistan area for illegally entering the country, media reports said. The police said the duo, identified as Prashant and Darilal, residents of MP and Hyderabad, respectively, didn’t have proper documents, Pakistan media reported. IANS

New Delhi: Around 100 JNU students, including students’ union president Aishe Ghosh, were detained and some were injured when the police allegedly baton-charged protestors as they marched towards Parliament on the first day of Winter Session on Monday, demanding a total rollback of the hostel fee hike.
