Punjab has so far inoculated only 908 persons aged between 18 and 44 since the start of the adult Covid vaccination drive in the country on May 1.

Haryana has managed to give the first vaccine doses to 99,252 adults in the 18-44 age group, while Jammu and Kashmir has covered 9,914.

So far, only 12 states have started the adult vaccine drive and administered first doses to 6,62,619 persons in the five days of the commencement of the Phase 3 programme. Out of the total people covered, 2,29,999 were inoculated on Tuesday alone.

Gujarat is leading in inoculation coverage in the 18 to 44 year segment having given the first Covid shot to 1,61,000 people. Chhattisgarh has covered 1,026 people, Delhi 79,975; JK 9,914, Maharashtra 1,12,311, Odisha 13,526, Rajasthan 1,26,514, Tamil Nadu 4,562 and Uttar Pradesh 51,236. — TNS
