8 people, including 2 doctors, test positive for coronavirus in Rajasthan

Eight more people, including two Bhilwara doctors and four paramedical staff, tested positive for coronavirus in Rajasthan on Friday, raising the total to 17 positive cases so far in the state.

All eight patients have been hospitalised and kept in isolation wards. ICUs have been closed down in the government run Bhilwara hospitals. 

An indefinite curfew was imposed in Bhilwara city, a private and Bangar government hospital were sealed and patients who came in contact with the infected doctors and paramedical staff are being screened, a senior Medical and Health Department official said here. 

Meanwhile, the state Road Transport Corporation has stopped buses’ operation and private carriage vehicles to Jhunjhunu and Bhilwara till further orders.

A raid response team of 300 medical personnel has been deployed in both districts to screen people door to door. 

Besides two suspected coronavirus patients reported to the government hospital in Jaipur.
