The Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) today issued an advisory asking all Afghan nationals to travel to India only on e-visa, and that all previously issued travel documents stood invalidated.

The advisory has come amid reports of Afghanistan passports with Indian visa being stolen from a travel agency in Kabul in a raid by a group allegedly backed by Pakistan’s ISI. Officials in the MHA said this posed a threat to India’s security as possibility of the passports being misused by Pakistan-based terror outfits was always there. Afghan nationals can apply for the e-visa, initially valid for six months, at www.indianvisaonline.gov.in. — TNS
