The Enforcement Directorate on Tuesday opposed before the Delhi High Court the bail plea by alleged middleman and British national Christian Michel James in the money laundering case connected to the Rs 3,600-crore AgustaWestland chopper case.

Appearing before Justice Dinesh Kumar Sharma, the ED counsel said James was a flight risk and the gravity of the offence did not merit relief to him. The alleged scam relates to the purchase of 12 VVIP helicopters from AgustaWestland.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense of the term.
