The Airports Authority of India (AAI) today signed an operation and management agreement for the operationalisation of five airports owned by the Government of Uttar Pradesh for 30 years. The airports are in Aligarh, Azamgarh, Chitrakoot, Muirpur and Shravasti.

The agreement was signed by NV Subbarayudu, executive director, on behalf of the AAI and Kumar Harsh, special secretary, Civil Aviation Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh, in the presence of UP CM Yogi Adityanath. As per the agreement, the UP Government will complete the initial capital works for making the airports ready for commercial operation.
