Lieutenant General AS Bhinder, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Sapta Shakti Command, visited Ranbankura Division and Sudarshan Chakra Division in the western sector to assess the security situation in the area. 

He was accompanied by Lieutenant General MK Mago, General Officer Commanding, Chetak Corps, during the three-day visit that concluded today.

General Bhinder reviewed the levels of operational preparedness of both the divisions within the framework of COVID-19 restrictions.  He also carried out aerial recce of the border areas.

After the visit, he complimented the formations for their excellent training standards and operational readiness.  He also exhorted all ranks to continue with their sustained hard work amidst the pandemic with due precautions and be ready to deal with any contingencies.

The Army Commander also reiterated on the welfare of troops, their families as well as ex-servicemen settled in the Command’s area of responsibility.  He emphasised that all measures be undertaken to enhance quality of life of troops.
