Manpreet Vohra envoy to Australia

New Delhi: Senior diplomat Manpreet Vohra has been appointed Indian High Commissioner to Australia, the MEA said. Vohra, a 1988-batch Indian Foreign Service officer, is presently Ambassador to Mexico. India and Australia have currently been stepping up cooperation, particularly in the Indo-Pacific region. — PTI

R-Day: Court grants bail to accused

New Delhi: A Delhi court on Monday granted bail to Ashish Kumar in a case related to the R-Day violence, saying no specific role had been assigned to him. It said the accused was not alleged to have attempted to kill or hurt the cops on duty. — PTI
