Bihar CM aspirant Pushpam Priya loses both seats, gets fewer votes than NOTA

Pushpam Priya Chaudhary, 28, a London School of Economics (LSE) alumnus, who had floated her own political outfit ‘Plurals Party’ and declared herself a contender for the Bihar Chief ministerial post, suffered a blow on Tuesday after she lost badly in both assembly seats she contested for Bihar elections.

Chaudhary has contested from the Bankipur assembly constituency in Patna district and the Bisfi seat in Madhubani district where she had merely received a few votes on both the seats. On the Bisfi seat, she had managed to bag less votes than None of the Above (NOTA) option.

In Bankipur other contestants against her were three-time BJP MLA Nitin Naveen and Congress candidate Luv Sinha, son of actor-turned-politician Shatrughan Sinha.

From the Bisfi seat, BJP candidate Haribhushan Thakur and RJD MLA Dr Fayaz Ahmad were the other contestants. Pushpam Priya has bagged less than NOTA votes from this seat.

Pushpam Priya is the daughter of former JDU MLC Vinod Chaudhary. She had created a stir by declaring herself as a CM candidate in newspapers before the Bihar elections. She had formed a party called Plurals and fielded engineers, doctors, social activists, teachers, professors as her candidates on several seats and herself contested from two seats. But she has failed to create an impact in the minds of the electorate it appears, since she has been trailing on both the assembly seats.
