Biocon Biologics official among 5 held in graft case
New Delhi, June 21
The CBI has arrested Joint Drugs Controller S Eswara Reddy, Associate Vice-President of Biocon Biologics L Praveen Kumar and three others on the charge of bribery in a case related to waiver of Phase 3 clinical trial of “Insulin Aspart” injection. Biocon Biologics is a subsidiary of Kiran Mazumdar Shaw-led Biocon and the firm has denied the allegations. The agency has also arrested Dinesh Dua, director at Synergy Network India Private Limited, who allegedly gave Reddy Rs 4 lakh, Guljit Sethi, alleged conduit of Biocon, and Assistant Drug Inspector Animesh Kumar.
