BJP MP and Yuva Morcha chief Tejasvi Surya and Rajasthan party chief Satish Poonia were stopped today from entering violence-hit Karauli by the Rajasthan Police. Accompanied by supporters, BJP leaders were demanding that they be allowed to meet victims of the violence that took place in Karauli on April 2.

Over 30 persons were injured in the violence.

Targeting Congress’ Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, Surya said, “The Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha is Bharat Mata’s own sena. You or your entire Sonia sena cannot stop us from questioning your dictatorship and Hinduphobia.” “The Karauli riots indicate clear lawlessness in Rajasthan. The deliberate attempt to disturb Ram Navami ‘shobha yatra’ and the unwillingness of the state Congress government to act against the aggressors is deplorable,” Surya tweeted.

After they were stopped, they staged a protest at the Karauli border before the police dispersed them with force and detained Surya, Poonia and other BJP workers. —
