Weeks after three relatives of ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) legislator went missing, their highly decomposed bodies were found trapped in a car in a canal.

It was a search for a couple whose two-wheeler had fallen into the Kakatiya canal that led authorities to discover the drowned vehicle. The car surfaced after authorities closed the sluice gates of the canal to look for the couple, of whom rescuers found only the man and are still looking for his wife.

Meanwhile, the bodies found inside the car belonged to Peddapalli MLA Dasari Manohar Reddy’s sister, husband, and their daughter. The car had to be broken into to pull the bodies out. Police were still investigating how the family ended up in the canal, located some 4 km from Hyderabad.
